April 26 - 29: Members of BINC, Beta and alumni gather in Bozeman for a weekend of fun. The weekend kicked off with meetings, pool, bowling and a get together of Briana McCrumb’s large family tree. Some of the more popular meals included Burger Bobs and Sir Scotts Oasis. Multiple birthday parties kept the evenings lively. Instillation of officers from both BINC and Beta occurred leading up the annual Beta retreat. This year it was held in the basement of BINC member Karl Keith. There was a lot of bonding with fellow Kappa brothers. Plans are underway to make this an annual trip. Congratulations to the new BINC board. Chairman of the Board: Hobbes Hayden Chairman elect: Christopher Johns Third board member: Briana McCrumb Jan 6: Beta members Matt Thompson, Steph Champ and Ginny Harris take a road trip to Colorado. Along with Beta Alumni Hobbes Hayden, the Betas attended the instillation of the re-colonized Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden CO. Beta members Matt Thompson and Ginny Harris participated along with members of the Alpha Theta chapter, inducting the first class into the re-colonized Xi Chapter. After the instillation, the group met with other Beta alumni JD McCrumb, Briana McCrumb, Janel Hutton and Robert Loffer. Good times were had by all. Sept. 30: BINC members Hobbes, Briana and JD travel to Gillett, WY to visit Beta Alumni David and Janel Hutton in their new house. Sept. 2006: Beta alumni William Bennett joins BINC as its 7th member. Sept. 1: Beta Alumni David and Janel Hutton closed on their first house in Gillett Wyoming, Congratulations! Sept: Congratulations to Beta Alumni Lynsey and MSU Alumni Chris Lund on the birth of their first child, a baby girl. Sept. 2: 6 members of the Beta Chapter traveled to Boulder CO to watch the Bobcats 19 - 10 victory over the CU Buffalos. July 14, 2006: Congratulations to Beta Alumni William Bennett and wife Angie. They are expecting the birth of their first child, a girl named Sophia, this coming November. July 7, 2006: Congratulations to BINC member Hobbes Hayden for passing the FE exam. He is now a registered Engineering Intern with the state of Colorado. June 7, 2006: Beta Alumni David and Janel Hutton have recently moved to Gillett, WY as David has assumed his new possition with Keller-Williams Paint. July 1, 2006: At the half-way mark of the Beta Chapter Trusts Inaugural Year, Beta Chapter Alumni and Supporters have pledged $500 of the $800 goal with $250 all ready received. June 12, 2006: Montana State University has announced Dr. Patrick K. Carney as the new Director of Bands as of July 1. Dr. Carney was most recently on the faculty at Oregon State University and has served as the Western District Governor for Kappa Kappa Psi. June 20, 2006: The year long MSU Bands Centennial Celebration will officially kick off in the spring of 2007. May 14, 2006: BINC Member Hobbes Hayden spent the day hanging out in Old Town Fort Collins with Beta members Stephanie Champ and Virginia Harris. April 23, 2006:Happy Birthday to Beta Alumni and BINC Member J.D. McCrumb. May 12, 2006:MSU and Beta Alumni Molly Riehl and Annie Weldon were in Denver for the weekend and enjoyed dinner with several BINC members while there. May 11, 2006: Members of the National Alumni Association have been mailed a ballot to vote on changing the quorum needed at NAA meetings. Be sure to watch your mailbox and vote by the deadline. May 8, 2006: MSU has announced the dates for the bands 2006 "Centennial Celebration". The bands will official kick off the celebration of 100 years of bands at Montana State on Homecoming weekend, October 6-8. Check back soon for more information. May 7, 2006: The new BINC board of directors was seated at the May 7 business meeting. Chris Johns is the 2007 BINC Chairperson, Hobbes Hayden is the Chairperson-elect and J.D. McCrumb retained his seat on the board. May 7, 2006: BINC Member Chris Johns spent the weekend in Bozeman visiting with Beta members and Alumni and helped celebrate Beta Alumni Janel Hutton's commencement. May 6, 2006: Congratulations to Beta Alumni Janel Hutton who celebrated her MSU comencment today with many friends and family. Janel finished classes in December with a degree in Fish and Wildlife Management. May 5, 2006: Happy Birthday to Beta Alumni and BINC member Chris Johns. May 1, 2006: MSU Director of Bands Dr. Lisa Hunter has announced that she will assume a position at Buffalo State College in New York after she leaves Montana State at the end of the 2006 academic year. April 30, 2006: The Beta Chapter of KKY has posted their 2006/07 Budget and year end officer reports and charges on the chapter's website at kkybeta.montana.edu. April 27, 2006: BINC Member Chris Johns has accepted a position as a Process Engineer with Jacobs Engineering in Portland, OR. Chris will focus on semiconductor manufactures designing expansions and installing new equipment. Chris starts on May 15. April 22, 2006: BINC Members Hobbes Hayden took his Fundimentals of Engineering exam today which will qualify him as an official Engineer In Training enabling him to pursue state licensing as a Structural Engineer. Hobbes will find out the results in 10 to 12 weeks. April 3, 2006: BINC member Hobbes Hayden spent theweekend in Bozeman and got to visit with many membersof the Beta Chapter. While in town, Hobbes and BetaAlumni Janel Hutton spent some time in the basement ofHoward Hall looking for Beta/Band memorabilia.March 31, 2006: BINC members JD and Briana hosted Betaand MSU Alumni members Matthew Elliot, JessicaBombino, and Molly Riehl in Denver where Matthew andJessica were visiting graduate schools.March 19, 2006: Two new members of BINC wereintroduced at the regular business meeting. Congratulations Robert Loffer and Karl Keith.March 19, 2006: The Beta Chapter Trust has reached thehalf-way mark of its 2006 Founding Year Goal. $500 ofthe $800 Goal has been pledged thus far. To read more,visit the Trust's website.March 13, 2006: 5 members of KKY - Beta travel to the Denver area to visit the Alpha Iota and Alpha Theta Chapters. While in town, they spend time with several BINC members sharing current chapter happenings and future prospects. Photos March 3, 2006: 14 members of KKY – Beta travel to Iowa for Midwest District Convention and win the Service Showcase Award for their efforts at the Montana State-wide Music Festival this past October. They also won the 2006 Travel Award. Photos soon to comeMarch 1, 2006: BINC publishes inaugural issue of BINC Linc, a tri-yearly publication designed to keep active and alumni members of the Beta Chapter current with BINC members and projects.February 27, 2006: Dr. Lisa Hunter has announced she will be leaving the MSU Director of Bands position at the end of the 2005-2006 School Year after three years in that position. No word on a replacement has been announced.February 2, 2006: BINC member J.D. McCrumb has accepted a position with Historic Denver, Inc., a non-profit organization, as their new Community Relations and Program Coordinator. He starts with them on February 13.
